my 2 year old refuses to show interest in books, I have tried to sit with him and help turn the pages and look at the pictures, but he just wriggles away.
Is there anything I can do to get him to enjoy books?
It must be frustrating for you, you dont say what types of books you are reading with him. Children like pictures, the bigger the better, also if your child is interested in something such as dinosaurs or sports, then try him with stories on these topics. YOu dont need to read the book word for word, try using his name or members of his families names in the story. Make your voice animated, exited, pitched. You could also try include adding a prop or two such as a sock dinosaur or puppet.
